snow bum canada

So hello everyone.
Hope you all had a fabulous summer.
Here's the latest hijinx I've been up to:
I have entered this contest called "snow bum canada" where the prize is 3 months stay up at Sun Peaks, season's pass and a few other yummy perks as well, in exchange for being a sort of on hill media rep for the months of january, february, and march. I just submitted my entry and my youtube video is posted as well, you can check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c_YgC-jRNQ
i'm super stoked!
You can also go to http://www.snowbumcanada.com/entries to support me or leave a comment about my entry because they will consider that feedback in their decision making process. And if you've ever been riding with me, make sure to mention what a highly skilled snowboarder I am.

pretty fun. I just entered for fun so we'll see what happens ya?

So the last thing they wanted me to do to is to somehow convey my skiing or snowboarding ability through the computer. And since I don't have a video or even a photo of me ripping it up up there in the mountains (and i refuse to cheat with someone else's shredding video or pic), I thought I'd write them a sampling of my writing... about where I like to take my board in the snow.
so here it is:

How to communicate my snowboarding ability….hmmmm. Well, if given the choice, I would ride powder (Sun Peaks Champagne Special), steep and as untouched as humanly possible, of course. I like trees where there are no tracks; call me crazy. I like to catch a little air, but I’m not all that kamikaze about it. I can ride down a black diamond with some semblance of style and a smile on my face, as long as it is not covered in ice, then it’s not so pretty to watch. Moguls aren’t my idea of a good time. But my favourite thing is those bottomless days when you are leaning so far back; all you can see is bluebird sky in between the face shots. That’s what we live for. Isn’t it? So you kind of get the idea of my ability I hope.

When I used to live up at Sun Peaks, I used to get a kick out of playing unofficial tour guide to visitors unfamiliar with the mountain. It was so interesting to meet people and then be able to share a bit of my home mountain with them and give them tips on the good runs (I know, the locals are gonna lynch me for this. Don’t worry, I never give up the secret, secret spots). I even remember skiing at Sun Peaks before, when it was little Tod Mountain.

I have great blogging skills, I think I have decent writing skills (man I hope those four years of university didn’t go to waste), and I’m great with people and love to be outside on the mountain in the fresh air. I can type fast and my computer skills are excellent.

As you can see from my video, I could do this job standing on my head.
