eeew! even this almost made me squeamish

Ok, so, I'll admit, there have been "firsts" in the past few weeks that I haven't reported here. After awhile, in India, even the novelty of "firsts" begins to wear off and although something might shock you momentarily, after awhile, it never surprises you in this country.

But this morning, before breakfast no less, I saw a sight I've never seen before... and if you are squeamish, better not read on.... just scroll down a ways. so right in the street, it was a half eaten monkey, half eaten by dogs, monkey head and upper arms were left over, and a few guilty, yet satisfied looking dogs in the vicinity. wow. So i thought i'd internet first before heading straight for breakfast, just to give that image a little time to clear.
Dogs and monkeys, from time to time, have a disagreeing of opinion around here, I guess that one went to the dogs. haha.

more life, more death, and on and on we go.

so, on a much less disgusting note: my birthday was yesterday. tremendous birthday. ya, it was great, birthdays always are. Somehow. The biggest surprise (you sneaky little people) was a birthday card, signed by all of you at the studio, wow! thanks steph, and for the 501Rs, too, came in handy since the bank machine ran out of money the other day. thnks!
you guys are the best, i can't believe you masterminded that before my mom left and gave her the card. you sneaky sneaky and so thoughtful girl. it totally lit up my day. thanks!!

I am watching one of the bollywood movies i bought you, and i'm loving it. so hooked on bollywood now, watch out. don't know what happened, i just snapped and became about another 12% indian. no, all joking aside, the love stories and how they reveal the heart of the indian people is .... a beautiful unfolding of humanness.
alright,
that's all for now.
december 10th, two weeks till christmas! hope you are all getting ready. wonder how the snow is piling up up at sun peaks, anyone?
in one week we leave to see the Taj Mahal. Could i be more stoked about that? think not. no.
then off to the beaches of goa for a little R&R and a chance to melt the bones. aaaaah, sun here we come.

much love and all
ang
